3 Doors Down - 3 Doors Down

Reviewed on Jun 7, 2008 by alwaysacoustic

3 Doors Down released their self-titled album 3 Doors Down on Universal Republic Records this past Tuesday.

If you enjoy the original up-tempo versions of “It’s Not My Time” and “It’s the Only One You’ve Got” then you will definitely enjoy their acoustic counterparts.

They were available as bonus songs on iTunes if you pre-ordered the album before the release date.

Although, “It’s Not My Time” (Acoustic Version) is no longer available, you can still receive the bonus song “It’s the Only One You’ve Got” (Acoustic Version) if you purchase the album at iTunes now. Both acoustic songs sound just as good as there original up-tempo versions, maybe even better?

For those of you who listen to 3 Doors Down, you know that they have never shied away from dropping their songs down acoustically. In fact, they have released acoustic versions of their biggest hits like “Let Me Go,” “Here Without You,” “Be Somebody,” “Be Like That” and “Away from the Sun.”

The acoustic versions of these songs are available at iTunes, Best Buy, Amazon or any other store that specializes in import albums.

Besides the stripped down acoustic songs, you will want to listen to their powerful lyrics in “Citizen/Soldier” like “standing on guard for the ones that we shelter. We’ll always be ready” or their heart felt lyrics “but lately I’m so tired of waiting for you… Just let me be myself. So I can shine with my own light” in “Let Me Be Myself.”

Also, listen to additional heart felt songs like “Pages,” “Give It to Me,” “These Days,” “When It’s Over” and “She Don’t Want the World.” In fact, “Citizen/Soldier” and “It’s Not My Time” have been played over a million times each on 3 Doors Down’s MySpace page.

In my opinion, any one of the powerful, lyrical songs listed above have the potential to be extremely popular. However, there is one song not listed above that I believe could be their most popular song ever.

“And I don’t care if I lost everything that I have known… Your arms feel like home.” As you listen to “Your Arms Feel Like Home,” you can hear how similar the song is to “Here Without You” in the way the two songs incorporate modern rock music with a little classical sound. Who knows maybe it will become one of 3 Doors Down’s most popular hit songs?

From the powerful heroic message on “Citizen/Soldier” to the heart felt message on “Your Arms Feel Like Home” their self-titled album is a must have for any 3 Doors Down fan and it might just soar as their most successful album yet.

For those procrastinators, it is not too late to purchase the album at iTunes. Remember you will still receive the bonus song “It’s the Only One You’ve Got” (Acoustic Version).

Finally, I am looking forward to providing future coverage of 3 Doors Down when they perform either in Chicago or Milwaukee.
