No Turning Back - Stronger

Reviewed on May 2, 2008 by marnix

No Turning Back are not going to boggle the mind with mathematically-precise technicality or majestically-written poetry. No, instead they exist solely to remind you that sometimes the best way is the simplest way. Eventhough in HC they often sing about the hard way an doing things the hard way that is something totally different of course. Hardcore should be about anger, energie, a message and combining- and letting go of those three. No Turning Back understands this like no other and execute this with extreme precision and dedication.

If you were down with the ol’ Madball-groove you won’t be disappointed with this awesome orchestra from Brabant (south of the Netherlands). Sure, No Turning Back is bound to piss off some of the snobby hardcore-elite because of their lack of growth in sound and originality since they’ve so stubbornly stuck with the fan friendly formula of angry energetic groove NYHC, but I gotta say that these guys made quite a big step in their own cut out niche.

Sure it’s still mostly the same as previous records, but tighter and no more mediocre fillers or anything like that. Stronger makes them the undisputed leaders of the new wave of chug-heavy, mosh-ready, anthem-filled, sing-a-long hardcore. In the Netherlands we hail them as kings and eventually the rest of the world will follow. Trust me on this one.

Even I can’t help but get pumped when Stronger comes blasting out of my speakers, so I know the kids will destroy shit when the mighty NTB plays these crushing hits live. Would any true hardcore-fan ask for anything more than this? I know I wouldn’t!
