Interview with Patchwork Grace

Posted on Jul 31, 2007 by DevotedToMusic

Patchwork Grace are an awesome Bubblegum Rock band from the UK.

Currently touring with Trashlight Vision and with a album on the way they are a band to look out for.

I Alexandra McLoughlin was lucky to grab a 2nd Interview with Patchwork Grace to see what they have been up to since the last interview.

What have Patchwork Grace been up to since our last interview?

Crip- We have been recording an album and are just about to start a UK tour with Trashlight Vision.

You recently played a festival. Which one was it and what was it like?

(Pause)

Crip- Don’t know (Laughs)

Joey- Did we?

Tori- Oh we were supposed to play Glastonbuget Festival but it got cancelled because the mud was immense.

Crip- It got cancelled right before our set.

Tori- Yeah we waited 6 hours to go on.

Crip- In a van.

Why did it get cancelled just because of the mud? Glastonbury festival was even muddier then you could ever imagine.

Crip- The stage was slippy and everybody was falling over.

Did you guys fall over?

Danny- We didn’t even get to go on stage (Laughs)

Crip- We didn’t even get a chance!

Did you watch any bands that played? If any?

Joey- Yeah we saw a few and they were all struggling because the rain was going straight on stage and everything was just getting wet through. That’s why it got cancelled in the end.

So you didn’t get to play that festival. Are there any festivals you would particularly like to play?

Tori- We are playing Park Hall festival. It’s a really big one from where we’re from and there are some really good bands on there so that’s a good festival if people can get down to that one.

Lets talk a bit about the new album. Have you got a name for it yet?

Tori- Yep! It’s called Milk Teeth.

And when is this out?

Tori- Err..

Joey- 10th September

Danny- 8th (Pause)

Joey- 10th.

Crip- 10th

Joey- Does it go back even further? (Laughs)

Crip- It’s the 10th now

Joey - (Interrupts) Apparently.

Crip- So it’s always changing so we don’t know.

Tori-September. That’s when it’s out. September.

Are you looking forward to it coming out?

Crip- Oh yeah! Definitely!

Tori- Yeah! When it does!

Crip- We just don’t want everyone to know different dates.

Tori- It’s down to the record label.

What particular songs on the album would you recommend to everyone?

Crip- All of them! The first 13! (Laughs)

Tori- We’ve changed one of our old songs called Nancy and it’s a really different version. I think people will be really interested to see how that’s turned out.

Are you making a video soon, for any of your songs?

Tori- We are releasing the single soon…When’s that coming out???

Crip- Monday!

Tori- We’ve done a video for that so it will be out soon and depending on the likelihood you might be able to get a hard copy too.

What should we expect from this video?

Tori- Errrr

Crip- White!

Tori- White things yeah.

Crip- And black and an occasional bit of green.

Your starting a tour now with Trashlight Vision, are you excited for this?

Tori- Yeah we’re all really excited!

Joey- We’re supposed to start today but somebody f**ked up so we’re not playing.

Why is it you’re not playing?

Crip- I dunno. Somebody forgot to tell the promoter we’re playing. He didn’t leave us room to play.

Do you know if you are playing all of the other dates then?

Joey- Yeah we’re doing all the rest of them just somebody f**ked up today.

I know that you guys are big fans of Trashlight Vision. You must be ecstatic that you are playing with them on this tour.

Crip- Definitely yeah!

Today you are playing Redhill, well originally. Have you been here before?

Tori- Not here before. We’ve been around this area before but not here.

Are you getting used to the new surroundings yet?

Tori- Yeah! It’s weird because all the towns you go to you don’t really know what to expect and sometimes you turn up to a town and loads of people know you and you don’t really know how that’s happened because you’ve never been there before. It’s really exciting.

What were you expecting?

Tori- What? From today?

Yeah! What type of people where you expecting to see?

Tori- Well we’ve got in touch with a lot of them because we’re not playing this day and a couple of people have come by and said hello to us. It’s really nice but obviously because we found out before we came; we had to get in touch with as many people as possible.

Finally. Is there anything else you would like to say about Patchwork Grace?

Crip- Buy the album!

Joey- Find out when it comes out first!

Crip- Download the single on Monday of iTunes.

Danny- Yeah and I’m rubbish at interviews (Laughs).

Thanks guys.

Crip- That’s ok.
