The Sedan Vault
It’s one of those bands with the annoying habit of playing shows when I already have plans I can’t or don’t want to get out off! According to their website, they play “innovating indie rock to postcore& from melody to clever noise in a split second” I couldn’t describe it any other way. I do like the songs I’ve heard from them on my computer, so I was glad I was finally going to see them. And how right could I’ve been? They played a pretty good set. Only sometimes my attention slipped away, but every time I remembered that they were still playing, I thought something like “Hey that sounds pretty good!” So this band definitely did convince me of their talent, they just need to spice the show up a little, thus grabbing and keeping everyone’s attention for the whole set.

If you don’t know them and at least some of their songs you must have been on another planet during the last few years. I don’t really remember how many times I’ve seen these guys, but I still wanted to see them again. Everyone who wasn’t there and feels bad about it is completely right for doing so! I didn’t hear much mistakes (ofcourse I’m not a good judge of that, not being a musician and all). The vocals were better than I’ve ever heard them live. Usually I thought of them as the least good thing about C&C’s live shows. They played a 50 minute set incorporating a good mix of both older and new songs. After the set they played 2 encores and jammed a little, altogether this was an extra 20 minutes. It was this jam-session that I liked least, at first those things are always cool, but after a while it gets a little boring, but I think it’s a lot of fun for the band itself. So that’s the worst thing I can say about C&C’s performance on that night.

PS: Does anyone think the singer will ever again get his hair cut, or will he simply be a very talented bunch of hair with a guitar, in a few years?
