There were 2 more bands playing this evening (3 & Chiodos) but sometimes we have to make choices. So I missed those two bands because of some shizzle concerning a good friend’s upcoming birthday.

36 Crazyfists
I’m quite fond of this band because they don’t overstress their metal-influences, but they're still clear. They put up a very energetic show with lots of interaction with the crowd. They played a lot of songs from the latest two albums. And may I say, gentlemen, what a fine choice you made? Especially starting off with “At the End of August” really got the crowd moving and shouting along from the first second. There’s really not much more I can say about this, apart from “see you next time!”

Atreyu
I was a little sceptic about this band and I was afraid to see 5 guys on stage wearing make up and with their hair dyed black. Luckily only the drummer/clean vocalist lived up (or should I say lived down?) to that expectation. They played a show which was a lot more “hard/metalcore” than “scene” or “emo.” They also mixed their songs up pretty good, having a equal parts from all three albums. I just can’t remember hearing “Ain’t Love Grand”, which was one of the first songs I knew from this band. On the other hand; playing “Lip Gloss and Black” as an encore was a great choice, this is definitely one of my favourite Atreyu-songs and I think most people will agree with me. I’m glad I didn’t skip this show, it really straightened my view on this band. :-)
The only thing that really bugged me was that we could barely hear the backing vocals by the guitarists. And sometimes even the singers screams seemed to drown in the rest of the music.
