Ass If officially started in the late summer of 2001 striving only one goal; to express their anger and translate it into furious punkrock. With two angry looking singers, a drummer and one guitarplayer it wasn’t really complete, we were able to compensate this with a lot of unstoppable enthousiasm, our drive to make it work. Time went by, songs were written, music was produced and despite the lack of experience in making music, the first songs came out pretty well. More rehearsals followed and slightly the music and songs developed. We got more confident and in march 2002 we played our first show at Monkfestival in nuenen(nl). Sometime after, the first change in line-up was a fact. We found ourselves a new guitarplayer and after a while we found a bassplayer too. All we needed now was a second guitarplayer and Ass If was complete. Halfway 2003, our quest for stereo guitarsound finally became a succes,
Ass If now, is best described as Intens Emotional Punkcore. Sometimes what you hear is pure anger and sometimes it´s about love and doubts. We try to gain as much benefit as possible out of 2 singers and two guitars, the drums make it kick in and the bass smoothens it a little, but never too much. In june 2003 we recorded a demo called "Show me the light" it contains 5 emotional spit in your face punkcore songs. With help of this demo we played a lot of shows, and though more than satisfied with having played about 2 shows a month, we’re determined to double this amount in the following year.
So 2003 was a great year. 2004 however will be much better, like we mentioned above we´re hoping to play a lot of shows or maybe even do a small tour! Most important we want to record more songs to let people feel our anger, disgust and dare them to think a little further, let them share in our furious emotions
We like going places, playing our songs, going mad on stage! In our humble opinion, and hopefully someday in yours too, we rock!!
